Created in response to Georges Perec’s Species of Spaces and Other Pieces, this book works to express the experience of moving in, making a space into your own, and then moving out, stripping it of your existence. After I moved out of my apartment, my close friend moved in. It surprised me how much changed with the room, even though the only difference was our different belongings. Our items shape our space, and they are a reflection of us. 

Featuring a heavily layered vellum cover that only shows a full space in the light, two separate excerpts from Georges Perec interact with each other and household objects. The accordion bind can be completely unfolded to see the whole story on one plane. 

This book was printed, bound, and designed by me.
